Seminar on the above mentioned topic was held on the 30th of January 2018 at HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna Hall from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Revd. Fr. S. Eugene Francis, Director of HUDEC-Caritas Jaffna presided the event. Mr.S. Sritharan, Director of programmes, PAFFREL and Dr. K.T. Kanesalingam, Head of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna delivered talks on the importance of the participation of people in the LGE, the new method of present election system for the Local Government, voting system, concepts of Local Government, challenges and promoting the election with justice. The participants were allowed for open discussion. 79 participants including, Directors of Caritas Mannar, Caritas Vanni, Religious leaders, and public from Mannar, Kilinochchi and Jaffna participated in this seminar.
